Onassis Library
Vision and timeless mission of the Onassis Library is to preserve and disseminate the rich cultural heritage of Greece. The Onassis Library manages special books and manuscripts collections and is responsible for their development and dissemination not only to the research community but also to the public. Its staff is responsible for selecting, documenting, cataloguing, classifying and insuring library resources, using library systems and specialist computer applications.
The Library’s staff provides answers to all library users’ enquiries; it is liaising with departmental academic staff, researchers, artists, external organizations and suppliers. Budget and resource management as well as the organization of events and activities inspired by the library collections on a yearly basis, are also an integral part of its activities.
